if clause  If clause คือ ประโยคที่ผู้พูดสมมติว่าถ้ามีเหตุการณ์หนึ่งเกิดขึ้น จะมีผลหรือเหตุการณ์อื่นๆ เกิดขึ้นตามมา Conditional sentence ประกอบด้วย 2 ส่วน คือ 1) If clause ส่วนที่เป็นเงื่อนไข ขึ้นต้นด้วย If clause , Main clause If + simple past, present conditional หรือ present continuous conditional If this thing happened

If clause , Main clause If + simple present, simple future If this thing happens, that thing will happen She would be a rich widow now if she'd married him เธอคงจะได้เป็นแม่หม้ายเศรษฐีไปแล้วถ้าเธอแต่งงานกับเขา

If clause , Main clause If + simple past, present conditional หรือ present continuous conditional If this thing happened โครงสร้างประโยคแบบ Second Conditional หรือที่น้องๆ อาจจะรู้จักในชื่อ If Clause แบบที่ 2 นั้น เป็นโครงสร้างที่ใช้กล่าวถึงเหตุการณ์ที่ตรงข้ามกับความเป็นจริงในปัจจุบัน หรือมีโอกาสเป็นไปได้น้อยมากๆ หรือ
